Happy workers day friends and top of the day to you all.
Am sure you are wondering what this post is all about, discarding a workers mentality? Thinking like a CEO? Let me put it this way, I wrote this post because I have come to realize over the years that a paid employment is a rather unfortunate exchange of destiny! Working for someone implies you are actively building another man's destiny... Now let's discuss.
A worker (employee)is one who is in the active employment of another person (employer). A worker performs task and duties assigned to him/her and expects to get paid weekly or monthly. The workers mentality is that he gets paid at the agreed period and he/she uses the funds to meet the most pressing needs and occasionally saves if there is a left over. Most times there are no left overs.
Workers mentality to discard
#1 Never depend on a single source of income.
#2 Rather than focussing on consumption, think investment.
#3 Win the inner battle against every rational voice that speaks discouragement by taking a positive step.
#4 Take responsibility for your life, actions and result, discard the blame mentality.
#5 Discard the fear of failure, embrace new opportunities.
To think like a CEO you must consciously walk out of your Egypt. No disrespect to the Egyptians, but Biblical Egypt symbolises a period of slavery, limitation, oppression and suppression for the Israelites. This is the same situation with workers today especially in 3rd world countries where minimum wages are set by the few corrupt capitalists and politicians that control the economy. Once more to become a CEO you have to walk out of your slavery, this could be a gradual process depending on the resources available and your capacity. Here are ways you can adopt the CEO mentality.
Think like a CEO
#1 Stop being satisfied with your current salary/wages! That is your Egypt you need to locate your Canaan land.
#2 Develop your capacity, learn new ideas.
#3 Think big, start something even if it means starting small.
#4 Think of a problem to help others solve, that could be your calling.
#5 If you fail, try again and don't stop till you succeed.
#6Choose a famous CEO to adopt as a role model.
#7 Wake up every morning, look into the mirror, call your self a CEO. There is a lot of power in spoken words.
