I think a lot of people forget that they need to socialize on Steemit. Although, I think part of it is the culture created from YouTube. YouTube doesn't really tell you, but they value engagement a lot, but the culture of YouTubers really hate anything that has to do with self-promo. And I mean the littlest of things will get you hated on. Not only that, but no one on YouTube really checks their comments, and the big guys get so many, that you hardly get into a conversation with anyone.
