Logan Circle

in #life6 years ago

Logan Circle also known as Logan Square is one of the 5 squares set up by William Penn in his original design of Philadelphia. It sits on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway between City Hall and the Art Museum and is one of the best places to view both. It is surrounded by such buildings as the Franklin Institute, Philadelphia Library, Cathedral-Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and the Academy of Natural Sciences; and is a major tourist destination in Philadelphia. It's center piece is a beautiful fountain known as the Swann Memorial Fountain.

In the future, we plan to do a more in-depth post on William Penn's original design of Philadelphia as well as the 5 original squares because of their significance in both historical as well as modern Philadelphia.

But for now enjoy these photos taken today of Logan Circle!
