Weekend Reset Mode

in #life12 hours ago

It’s the weekend again, and I’m taking the full opportunity to slow down and breathe. After a long week of deadlines and responsibilities, I really look forward to these days when I don’t have to think too much about work. Weekends feel like my reset button, and I’m learning to protect that time more intentionally.

Later, I’ll be heading to the grocery store to buy everything I need for the week and stack them in the pantry. It sounds simple, but having my meals and basics prepared ahead of time makes the coming weekdays feel less stressful. It’s my way of telling my future self, “I’ve got you.”

But I don’t want my weekend to be all errands and tasks. I always try to dedicate a portion of it purely for relaxation, whether that means resting, watching something light, or just doing nothing for a while. Mental health is important, and I don’t want to underestimate it anymore. As Anne Lamott said, “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.”

Life is still beautiful, even when it feels busy or heavy. We just have to look for small ways to make it feel that way again, through rest, good food, quiet moments, or time with people we care about. I’m reminding myself not to stress too much about work, because at the end of the day, it’s really not worth sacrificing my well-being over it.

So today, I’m choosing to be productive, and kind to myself. Errands can wait a bit, but my peace of mind shouldn’t.

Have a great day!
