Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel was a French entrepreneur and fashion designer.
She founded her fashion empire "Chanel" at the beginning of the 1910s and still has the reputation of an extraordinary personality in fashion history.
Because of her influence on the fashion world, especially in haute couture, she was named to the list of the 100 most influential people by the US magazine Time in 1999.
Her rise as a pioneer of almost revolutionary, functional women's fashion began in 1913. Calf-length skirts, airy trousers, loosely tied tops and short hair were new fashions of the time.
Even today, the Chanel label is still very successful with its perfumes. Their legendary Chanel Nº 5 is considered the best-selling perfume in the world.
With annual sales running into the billions, Chanel is today one of the most important companies in the fashion industry.

Das Unternehmen Chanel gehört heute mit einem Jahresumsatz in Milliardenhöhe zu den bedeutendsten in der Modebranche.

Yes, it's probably the most consistent success of the labels Chanel. The perfume Chanel Nº 5 was probably mixed by specialists. But while she was in charge. So it's her product. Gabrielle "Coco" really thought outside the box with her fashion ideas.
