You have a responsibility to provide water, roads, employment, health services etc to your voters. Wake up from somber. Work hard to reduce the hardships of your voters. The Word PANDIT stands for a learned person and has nothing to do with a vegetarian. If a lawmaker makes such a statement, he/she must be disciplined to the extent possible, including expulsion from the Bidhansava and imprisonment.
People who are old enough remember that at one time Pandit Nehru himself appealed to press and other media not to refer to him as a "Pandit". He said he would be happy to be called just "Mr. Nehru".
Nehru was an accomplished person. He attained all his accomplishments as Nehru. He did not use his caste identity to ask for votes. Now that is something unusual for a lot of demented individuals we call political leaders today. No wonder one of them is talking about Nehru's caste.
