Superstition
We can say it is a belief or myth that is created by the people long time ago. It is an imagination that doesn't exist in the real world and doesn't make any sense at all.Superstitions ascribe supernatural origins to things that humans don’t understand, and they occur across the world. Early humans had a lot that they didn’t understand, but modern people are much more enlightened.
A belief which leaves no place for doubt is not a belief, it is a superstition.

Superstitions or unexplained phenomenon in general have one thing in common which appeals to a lapse in the cognition of human beings- the fact that they are not explained. There are many things which happen but still doesn't make sense. Some superstition came to be true and some don't. After all the modernization and enlightenment people still believes in superstition. Everyone of us to some extent believe in superstition which we have been listening from the child. We still practice those things which our elders has taught and still try to avoid those things which causes bad luck to people .
From the dawn of human existence people have held superstitious beliefs. These are the irrational beliefs that an object, action or circumstance not logically related to a course of events influences its outcome.Now, you might be thinking that if these beliefs are false than why do people believe in such superstitions? Because there are some people in society who say that they have experienced them in their real life. Either this must be lie or self made stories and even if people thinks it is a false belief they start to have some doubt on their mind. They start to fear those unknown action, object or circumstances and start to take precaution than to let it happen.
Superstitions have come a long way in history and have been evolved in this process. Every known civilization that ever existed on the planet had something common in them; these were the myths and superstitions that were a crucial part of their cultures. The word superstition is designated to those beliefs that result from ignorance and fear of the unknown. Many superstitious practices are due to the false interpretations of the natural events.
** Stress is related to superstition**
According to New studies, Stress makes people not only believe in rituals but also in conspiracy theories and as a result, they are more likely to “see” things that actually do not exist. Stress create lack of controll on people life and try regain the control through superstition. People are born selfish and they are very desperate to find the reason of misfortune. Being superstitious helps them to hide their mistakes by blaming luck, which according to them no one can control except God.
Here are some superstition that are practiced in my country,
If a black cat or mouse cut your road while passing by it is considered as bad luck.
You shouldn't walk at 12 either it is am or pm, it is considered as bad time when evil spirit roam around.
If you saw shoes turned around than it is considered as bad luck.
You shouldn't whistle at home because it brings misfortune.
Many people believe Friday 13th is an unlucky day same as the number.
Cutting your nails after sunset will bring bad luck.
If your left hand itches, you will lose money. Etc.
These are some of the superstition that are practiced in my country. Even it's 21st century people still believe in superstition. This kind of things are practiced from long time and passed down form century to century. People still eat some kind of sweet before going to face interview or going for some good work because it is believe that eating sweet before will bring good news. In my opinion people practiced these kind of superstition beacuse they are griddy and selfish.
Thus, Superstition will never end whichever the era it will be.
I think superstition is nothing more than illusory correlation. If we really think about it, all religion is also superstition.
Yes every religion has some superstition which has been followed by people from generation to generation.
