Interesting article! A sad subject indeed. Food for thought: what should humanity try to get rid of first, loneliness or hunger? What is worse, living and dying all alone in a flat without any human contact, in a rich country, or living with your family friends in a poor country, always hungry. I am not sure. I do think governments should do much more against loneliness (especially for old people, who often have nothing else left in their lives).
