RE: Technology Perspectives: Past, Present, and Predictions

in #lifelast month

It IS easy to remember life through rose tinted glasses, I concede. However, one thing that always makes me feel that it was better is that it was possible to find individual, creative stories and projects that weren't made glossy to sell - well, everything. It was an internet of ideas, not an internet that you needed a degree to wade through, a fat wallet to be heard upon, and you walked into a room, and walked out again, just to use it, in limited time frames. THAT was a good thing.

I vividly remember seeing websites I used to enjoy get swallowed by ads and corporate appeasement slop long before A.I. was adding to the mess. The enshittification of everything is real.

Enshittification! Awesome word.

I didn't coin it. I saw or heard it somewhere, and decided to use it.
