I stopped to grab a quick lunch.
“Hello, I’ll have a tuna salad please.”
It was tasty. Varied ingredients. Big plate.
I was halfway done when I realized I had a competitor.
A SLUUUUUUG was eating my lettuce.
I grabbed the plate and went directly to the counter to talk to the waiter.
WHAT HAPPENED:
He replied: “Sometimes the young girl is in charge of washing the vegetables. She likes to do it. ”, while pointing to a 10 or 11 year-old girl.
He then took the plate back to the kitchen, came back and asked:
“Do you want anything else? Coffee? Dessert? Or just the check?”
I never went back and strongly advised everyone no to go there.
- The slug was not the problem. Mistakes are allowed.
- Not caring about the costumers is a problem.
- Thinking it is normal to charge for a salad with a slug is a problem.
WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED:
Waiter: “I’m so sorry! This is unacceptable for the quality standards we are trying to achieve. You are not paying for this and you are welcome to order a different meal.”
Me: “I’m not happy with the service but these things happen. I’m sure you’ll find a way to avoid this kind of situations from now on. Please bring me a…”
