Hey there Steeemians!
It has been an interesting week. One that has caused me to reflect on the way things work in this life. I've thought about how I got to this place in my life and how I'll get to where I want to be.
It started with the journey from Texas to Oregon to help my mother move from her amazing home into a retirement/assisting living facility. No, wait, it actually started a couple of months ago when this amazing, vibrant, 80 y/o woman told me that she had leukemia and had 6-12 months to live.... just so you know, she's doing well and I do expect she'll be around for a while.
Some back ground: My mother is a quilting ICON around here; her quilts and her techniques have been featured in national publications. And.... her house was filled, every nook and cranny, with fabric! Yards and yards of it in every color and every pattern you could imagine. But wait, there is more; books, and patterns, and kits, and sewing machines, and thread, and.....
So, we've spent the last week selling as much as we could. It was very cool to see her holding court and telling stories as she tallied up the purchases.
And then today, she made the move.
I know you are thinking that I am way off topic, but here is the point: When we make the move; when we step off into the water; then, and only then does God (the Universe...) get busy working for our success.
Today, she is in a lovely apartment and has already met 5 quilting friends who are also residents. She is excited to share her craft and, who knows, with out the stress of maintaining a home, she may be around to influence many others for months, maybe even years, to come!
I've seen God work in this way many times in my life. I'll share some of those stories in future posts.
In the meantime, know this. The world is your oyster! You just have to wade in the water to claim that pearl!
