Going Beyond Knowledge

in #life6 years ago

Knowing about something or how something can be done is not enough but the application of it. Knowledge that is not converted into result has made the knowledge acquisition process of little or no effect. After you have acquired knowledge about something, first ask yourself where the knowledge can be applied and try to apply it.

Believe me, the beauty of acquiring knowledge is when it is applied to something practical. In mathematic for example, after spending years to find "X" and "Y" and you cannot apply it to simple things like calculating your balance from a bus conductor, then tell me, of what use is the knowledge?

So many people pursue after certificate while leaving the main knowledge behind. Trust me, even though the certificate may get you through certain doors (like the door of employment), your skills, knowledge and application of it will be what you need to keep up with the job and move higher.

Being certificated is not the same thing as being learned and being knowledgeable in a particular thing. There may be people that do not possess certificates in certain fields but have enough knowledge (through experience) in that field to make a difference. Okay tell me, what certificate did Mark Zuckerberg have before creating Facebook?

There's a friend of mine that works in a servicing firm. He has only Bachelors degree but humorously, some workers under him have more certificate, some with even PhD, and they answer him "sir". This may shock you; some big companies now do not majorly base their employment criteria on just certificate but the skills you can bring to the table.

If your knowledge cannot be converted to something tangible or something that can provide solution to certain problems of life, then it was not worth your time in the first place. Y'all should seek for ways to put what you have learnt into practical application, otherwise the effort to acquire the knowledge would be futile.

Thanks for reading

Peace on y'all
