Live. Life. Well. - 14 recommendations AND a request for help

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Life is a mysterious thing that happens to us. But, we must live to complete it.

The better we live, the better our lives and our memories afterwards.

Predictable? Not quite. Every once in a while, a life is threatened or cut short painfully, by something that feels like a cruel cosmic joke.

I am here today: sleeping, eating, dreaming, laughing and right now typing a post for Steemit. I have a great family: a very young child, a husband, parents, sister, countless relatives and friends. And I want to live. For a long time. I want to enjoy life to the fullest. But, will I be here tomorrow?

No idea!

I could die in an accident or I could again be beset by some incurable illness that could cut my life short mercilessly. And of course, this could happen to anybody else too.

Life is that unpredictable. And often impartial to time, state of mind or circumstances! It is up to us to make our life beautiful and our moments count as long as we are here.

Here are some fundamental recommendations:

  1. Start with being good! :) Be charitable at home and gradually extend it to the world outside. Remember every single person you help will become a friend. And someday make a difference in our lives. Just like we in theirs. So live life and help others live theirs.
  2. Get your beauty sleep. Our bodies heal to a great extent when we sleep. Can't stress this enough. Just give in. Once again, to all the night owls out there: just give in! Hush. If it's night, go to sleep.
  3. Make sure you have a balanced diet. Get all your vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, fats and water every day. Remember the vegetables, the fruits and the extremely important probiotics! Get supplements if required. I also strongly recommend C0Q10 (for heart health and energy) every once in a while.
  4. Exercise. Atleast for 30 minutes every day. Not only will it keep you fit, it will also help with the hormones that can otherwise wreck up a person's life. Especially for the ladies. Ask me, I'm so highly temperamental some days that I want to run away from myself.
  5. Keep some time aside everyday for meditation and prayer. Create your own personal space. This should be 100 % "Me time!".
  6. Train yourself to be productive from the word go and to always finish first things first. Actually, go a step further. Check out Stephen Covey's excellent book "First things first." Trust me, there is no other thing that reduces work stress better than knowing that all the important things are already done.
  7. Try learn something new everyday. Cultivate more hobbies. Challenge yourself. Stimulate your brain so there is no/little age related cognitive decline over the years.
  8. Spend lots of real quality time regularly with kids if you have any of those. :)
  9. Listen to good music. Get into your zone. Try out different genres. Dance.
  10. Dress well. Dress suitably. If you know you are looking good, it will automatically raise your self - confidence and in general make you feel better. Try different colours according to the days of the week or just moods. For instance, I love to wear blue/pink on Mondays, red on Tuesdays, green/black on Wednesdays, orange on Thursdays, white on Fridays, grey on Saturdays and yellow on Sundays. :D
  11. Take photographs. Of yourself. Your kids, family and friends. Your favourite possessions. Your favourite landscapes. Keep them safe.
  12. Take a break whenever you really need it. Whenever on a vacation, get out even early and explore more. Pamper yourself when you need it. Soak in a hot bath tub or gift yourself a massage.
  13. Be aware! Of your body! Of the food you eat! Of your surroundings! Can't stress this one also enough.
  14. Hang out with family and good friends. Live a lot. Laugh a lot.

And watch how much more meaningful your life will soon be. As mentioned earlier, it is up to us to make our life beautiful and our moments count as long as we are here!

Life's worth smiling about. Let's ensure the smiling!
