I read a very interesting statistic the other day which sent me into one of those deep pondering sessions. Apparently, we humans make about 35,000 decisions per day! That's an insane number of things to decide on in a single day.
Whether or not that number is accurate is beside the case. The fact of the matter is that from the moment we wake up in the morning to the moment we go to bed, we really do make a lot of choices.
From the smallest of decisions about what to eat to bigger ones about how to proceed with our pursuit towards our goals, there is just so much we have on our minds.
What's crazier is that even the smallest of decisions can lead to humongous effects in the future. Ever heard of the butterfly effect? That's exactly what I'm talking about.
Decisions Make You
I have always believed that at any given point in your life, you are the sum total of all your past decisions. You never know the kind of effect your one single decision will have. This realisation only comes in hindsight and when you connect the dots, it's almost enlightening.
We've all heard of or seen videos of people escaping death just because they were either a second too early or a second too late at a particular place. I mean, if they had decided to walk just a little faster or a little slower, they would have died! How crazy is that?
I know. I know. I'm taking this way too deep than it needs to but you get my point. Decisions are what makes us. If you realize this truth, you will waste no time at all just throwing your life on things that do no matter.
You would be putting all your efforts into things that lead you to your goals. We all have dreams and aspirations and we owe it to ourselves to achieve them. Decide today that you will not stop until you do so. You can DECIDE to be successful and happy. Go for it. :)
