What a weekend! I usually prefer my weekends quiet and peaceful, but this one called for non other than a busy one. It is one of those weekends where you need a holiday after the weekend.
It started off Saturday morning with Celenic Earth Publications' Guinness World Record Anthology Event. The event went well, with photography being done by Brent Peters, our Director of Photography. Our local writers that were involved with the anthology were also present, with our two witnesses making sure we followed proceedings.
The visitors were amazed at what we had to say about our publishing company and the way we do business with our clients. We gave a small talk about our future plans, which excited the crowd towards applause. It was the great start to introducing our company to local residents.
Once all that was done, we headed home. My son is in Grade 1 and has taken up tennis as his summer sport. Even though they provide the racquets, we made sure to obtain racquets for both Nathan and myself so that we could practice and play at home. So when Sunday came along yesterday and we started our fire for the braai, the racquets and ball came out and I showed him how to strike properly. It was a rather enjoyable afternoon not only spending time with him, but teaching him something valuable for school sports.
With the fire raging on in the background. We had a guest over for the braai, who had actually joined us for the World Record event. It was a lovely braai that took us into late afternoon, but we made sure to eat early so that she could head home before the sunset. Not the usual type of braaing we grew up with, where we would eat well after dark. But it was a long drive for her home and we preferred that she arrived at home safely. Before the vampires come out at night.

It was a St. Paddy's weekend for me... so unfortunately nothing as "peaceful" as it could have been :P
