WARNING to all Canadians (and U.S.)

The Canadian national anthem is about three things: love, protection, and freedom. We can separate those three things into subjects.

1. love: Love and respect all people and the country.
2. protection: Protecting the country, its values, and all Canadians.
3. freedom: Everyone should be free to roam where they want, believe what they want, get what they want, have what they want, and do what they want.

Let's look at the state of the country on the basis of all three subjects.

1. Love

Canada is rapidly losing its love and respect for people. Average people are becoming outcasts, and the target for violence and discrimination. One example is who I am -- a white guy. That's it. Just a white guy. I have friends who are of African descent, native Indian, Chinese, among others. I have trusted friends of nearly every race on the planet. Yet, some people (not widely believed yet) refer to people like me as 'privileged white guy'. None of my friends take that stance. If someone called me a racist, my friends would be enraged. Still, some people in this country think all white guys are bad -- evil. Some would like us 'exterminated'. I have not yet been the target of slurs or slander. It's coming though.

This actually started in the U.S. and from my research has taken a bigger hold in the U.S. so far. This is due in part of people like Obama, Hillary Clinton, and some celebrities. It's growing in Canada though, thanks to OUR government. Yes, the very people entrusted to keep people safe and respected are doing the exact opposite -- making others vulnerable to attack.

2. Protection

Violent attacks against certain sects are increasing -- and it's not the usual victims anymore. Let me be clear about one thing before I go on. I do not condone any violent acts against others, regardless of their beliefs or lifestyles. Both verbal and physical attacks are wrong in all accounts assuming their not violent or threatening violence.

People with different sexual attraction or no sexual attraction, people of different race, and people with certain beliefs used to be prone to verbal or physical attack. Now, white men, Christians, Jewish, and law enforcement are coming under violent attacks.

Instead of reducing discrimination, thus protecting all persons, some people are changing the proverbial face of racism, which in turn facilitates violence against others. It's not right to make people pay for the mistakes of others, only because they belong to the same race or sex as others.

3. Freedom

Freedom should be the basis of our country. The freedom to believe what you want, own what you want, go where you want, and do what you want. Freedom is not what you get though. What freedoms do you have? You're free to sit down, shut up, close your eyes, wear nothing spectacular, and pay taxes. Nearly everything else could get you into trouble. Does that remind you of a few oppressive regimes?

Freedom is losing ground, rapidly, and even more so with the current government. The current government is laying charges on people for the silliest things: having a debate with someone who believes something different than you. Before you get upset with that last comment, keep in mind, I am not talking about religious slurs or hatred. I have had debates (both willing parties) about the validity of theories of evolution, various religions, aliens, and other issues. Both of us wanted a debate. We both wanted to get our point across. Neither of us were offended or felt satisfied afterwards. We needed more talking for that. When we felt like we couldn't get our point across any longer, we both quit. This didn't only happen one time or one person. I've had many.

The freedom to debate others on beliefs (not just religious) is necessary to getting a point across and providing information to others. I've learned from debates. I've been disproven during debates. I've also taught during debates and been proved correct. Debates don't have to be considered racism or slurs. They can be an effective teaching tool. I learned quite a bit in school from debates, watching business debates ('negotiation'), political debates, and debates about 'faith'.

The Canadian government has announced funding cuts to non-oppressive schools. Yes, non-oppressive schools are having their funding cut out -- but only if the government approves of the oppression. Talk about crazy.

Conclusion

We're under attack. The attack is from the government, media, social media, socializing, and other places online. The attack is causing a very negative effect; an increase in attacks on others. Canadians aren't the type to oppose and fight the government either. We talk a bit, perhaps protest if its something really bad, then just sit and take it. The government, in one way, promises us 'medicine' and gives us 'snake oil' and we eventually drink it down.

The whole image of Canadians being too 'nice' is true. Compared to south of the boarder, Canadians are probably the most timid people on the planet -- me excluded. I personally resemble a U.S. patriot. I'm out of place here.
