“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.”
― E.E. Cummings

Today I want to talk to you about the concept of novelty, new and change, and how our body reacts to it.

First of all, I want to ask if I admit the following statements / question:

  • I'm not sure if it's going to work well.
  • I do not know what to say ... if it does not work.
  • Can I do that?
  • I do not think I can do that.
  • I do not think I will.
  • I do not know for sure ... what to say.
  • I do not think I have the power to do that.

And the list can go on, you got the idea.

The next time you hear something similar in your mind, I want you to notice and understand that it's just a defense mechanism of the body.

Our body is the concept to react to fear, to the unknown, in an automatic way. In most cases, he will try to avoid the change to stay in his secure area.

But if you do not accept the change, if you do not take the initiative, if you do not act when you are afraid, if you do not say what you meant, if you do not do what frightens you, one thing happens: your body controls you. In short: You are not evolving.

Just by going through the things that scare you and by no means you can not imagine that you will do them, just by going over the things that increase your heartbeats pumping your adrenaline through the body, the moments that turn your hands into ice blocks just passing through those moments and by doing those things you can evolve.

Evolution means doing what is scaring. Opportunities will appear constantly, you only have to observe, observe thoughts and act, even if your body tells you the opposite.

Homework: Tomorrow do something that scares you. Anything scares you. For example:

  • Take the initiative in a project.
  • Choose to run a team of people.
  • Volunteering.
  • Set up a meeting with a person you want to know and admire.
  • Ask a question for someone who you think will not answer.
  • Raise your hand and tell your point of view.

There are many examples, now you know best what scares you.
