Silence, Kindness, Gratitude

"Good is made up of an infinite amount of small things, which, in the end, may eventually change the world."

It sometimes happens that I can not find my words. Not because I have nothing to say, but because I'm afraid I will not be able to make myself understood. That's why I prefer to stand by, looking at the lighted scene, where people quarrel and accuse, as if the end of the world is near. I also wonder how detached I am. That does not mean I do not care, but I prefer to express my feelings, ideas differently.

I prefer the petty gestures of the daily, not the "revolutions" that ask for revenge. Good things built from man to man, sometimes anonymous; good facts that may not go to the press because they are not big enough or impressive. The drastic measures may be a solution, I do not say no, but such initiatives fail to mobilize me or motivate me. This is how I am.

Yes, sometimes silence means indifference. But what use to speak and do nothing, to speak for the sake of hearing?

Let's judge and accuse less. Let's do more. As much as we can. And not just on the tragedy. I believe that the good is formed from the contributions of each one, whispered or expressed loudly, according to preferences. Change comes from our good deeds every day, not (just) from desperate words and gestures.

And because everyone has the right to choose what's best for him (as if it was in democracy, right?), I choose not to be indignant but just silent and grateful for everything I am, see, feel, receive. Enjoy life as long as I can.

PS: I'm glad to find that being good has become cool. Maybe we'll get there when it's good, it'll just be normal.
