Look a bit closer. 50% of the ad money goes to creators and 10% even to viewers. People have wished for this feature for years and we simply delivered.
The problem was always the same. People find 3speak, think it's a cool video platform, and leave again quickly because it's just a one-time payout based on Hive. You're a creator yourself, so you know some videos take a loooot of efforts and keep performing for a long time or becoming viral after months. Getting paid once for that is kind of silly.
So if we're "desperate" for anything, it's for creators who stick around. Not ones who lose interest because they got 1 USD for a video they worked on for weeks. For me, this shows we actually listen to what creators need and want to give them a comfy place to stay. Same goes for viewers: where can you watch videos and get paid for it?
And yes, 40% goes to us. But I guess you know how expensive video hosting and a fast website are.
