She awoke after 20 years in a coma || English-Spanish

The world changes every day. Nothing remains static. Just wait a week and we will have that feeling that “something” has changed in our environment. That something is capable of being perceived unconsciously and manifests itself in that strange sensation of a new scene, although we cannot exactly specify what is different.

How strange and shocking it is to fall asleep with the dreams and expectations of an 18-year-old and wake up the next day with a body of a 38-year-old..

Everything changed. Your parents grew old, your friends left, your beloved pet died 15 years ago.

Everyone dresses differently, speaks differently, thinks differently.

The world does not stop for a second.

It is overwhelming!

What would King Henry VIII of England think if he came back to life 450 years later, and knows that he can no longer have several women, or cut off his wife’s head to get rid of her. And that crusades cannot be invented to appropriate foreign lands.

It will be funny to see his confusion when he finds out that his clothes, although expensive, look ridiculous. That people do not travel on horses but in cars, trains and airplanes. That if he were to open an account on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram anyone can refute his ideas or insult at will. And worse, to see how commoners publish memes mocking him and he cannot cut off their heads or imprison them in some dungeon.

This is how life changes: by leaps and bounds. Only we are so busy living that we do not notice that today is a totally new, unique and unrepeatable day. Something always changes, always moves.

Sarah Scantlin could not understand that she was not 18 years old anymore. Her life was ruined by a drunk who only spent 6 months in jail. She died on May 20, 2016

...
