Education is still quite important, though these days there are so many ways to learn stuff – online courses, YouTube tutorials, websites, and what have you. Information is everywhere. So a diploma or a degree is no longer absolutely necessary to survive and earn a living.

Though for more intensive career paths like engineering, medicine, law, and science, a degree still has its merits.

I'm totally agree with you. You can learn from another ways. But employers still want to see your diploma. They are accepting only this kind of education form. It's so pity....

Skills training can take on so many forms these days. Employers should not limit qualifications to having a formal education. Even technical skills training is significant for, say, trade jobs.
