The people whom you allow to form your close circle of friends will influence you more than you realize.
This is just the truth of things.
If you hang around people who lack drive, goals and ambition do not be surprised when you find yourself following suit. They do not want anything out of life except to party late and sleep all day - a recipe for regret years down the road. You will have fun...plenty of it.. This fun will cost you job opportunities, relationships, possible connections and more. You will essentially be a lazy individual who fails to capitalize off of open doors. SERIOUSLY.
I have seen so many unmotivated people receive opportunities that thirsting creators would have jumped at instantly. Yet, the unmotivated person will shit away opportunities with no real realization of consequences. They do not care that they not only ruined a chance that someone serious would have taken advantage of but also they risk ruining the reputation of the person who may have put their name on the line. Just plain inconsiderate.
On the other hand, it is a beautiful thing to be closely associated with movers, shakers, and people with ambition. You will feel motivated to set goals and you will move fervently towards accomplishing these goals. It's hard to be unmotivated and lazy around a group of movers and shakers. This energy will soon find it's way to you, if anything. Imagine being around a pack of thirsting lions who desire success and all that entails. Now, imagine being one of the lions.
That is the power of influence. We cannot escape whether we are influenced or not. However, we can decide what we will allow to influence our perspective on our life. We are truly the company that we keep - so choose wisely.
