Turn signals aka direction indicators, directional signals, directionals, blinkers, indicators, flashers
Seriously people, start using them. It's there for a reason, you don't have to worry about what others will think of you when you're turning into their lane, in fact, I'm certain they will highly appreciate you signalling and letting them know that you are going to change lanes. It requires the same strength of a newborn, so there's no excuse to not use it other than you being a lazy moron.

Today I was coming back from the city and guess what, it was bumper to bumper traffic. As I was coming up to a set of light, a guy started to drift into my lane, at first I thought he was on his phone or perhaps he was on his way to the local optometrist to get some prescribed glasses to see the road better. I tooted my horn to let him know that I was there so that he would realign into his own lane, but instead the prick just tooted back, turned on his indicators while his car was taking up both lanes.
After having an internal road rage and getting on a freeway, I started to look at every single car in front of me and monitoring their indicator behaviour and to my surprise (not really) almost no one signalled for more than 1sec prior lane change even though other cars were around. Most of them started to change lanes and once the car had crossed over the white line they would turn on the indicators making them pretty ineffective.
On the other hand, we have the "set and forget" kind of dweebs that tend to forget to turn the suckers off leaving them for the rest of eternity. How can you suddenly forget you turned them on, are you deaf and blind?

Totally with you. I find Sundays particularly bad for poor driving (low skill rather than aggressive), I assume because there are people on the roads who would take PT to work during the week. The last two weeks have felt similar to Sundays which reinforces my hypothesis.
I just don't know how those people pass their driving exam and the driving license, I mean this isn't 007 license to kill.
Your hypothesis could be correct, but I find those knobs all year round!
I think there are different issues in different places as well as different times of the day/week. I have found driving in Melbourne different to Sydney and Australia different to New Zealand. I don't know what the figures are like now but when I was driving in NZ there were something like 7 fixed place speed cameras (rotated through about 14 spots) and 1 red light camera in Auckland (there were police with radar guns and mobile speed camera units though). The kiwi attitude to speed and red lights is (or at least was) noticeably different to Melbourne where there seem to be infinity speed & red light cameras. However, tail-gating (the poor distance judgement type rather than the aggro type) is much worse here.
Oh I was going to include tailgating, but didn't have the nerve for this post :P
You know what is even worse than this? When people use their blinker and then keep it on for the next mile! Happened to me on the way to work and FROM work.
Yeah that is bad too, it's like a russian roulette.... is he going to turn now...maybe now?
Bring on fully-autonomous cars. Then I won't have to deal with this shit and check my steem wallet while driving
I hate the idea of self driving cars, personally I love to drive, it's the others that make it nightmare mode, and obviously there are other good drivers that it's a pleasure to drive with.
I used to, was a mechanic and loved everything automotive but as I get older it has just become a chore.
