RE: History of U.S. Income Tax

in #life8 years ago

Taxes are a tough subject for this group! Nobody likes them, but again nobody wants to give up the benefits they provide (roads, airports, safe food/medicine, discoveries like the Internet, etc).

Sort:

Last I checked our roads are falling apart. Not to mention our airports relative to other nations.

Yea, our bridges too! The latest report by the government auditors shows how thousands of the nations bridges are nearing critical failure. Not exactly warm-and-fuzzy news.

It's a mess..but there is hope..not in our politicians but in each other.

This is America. The day we all give up hope is the day our country no longer exists. I too have hope in the people. (not so much in politicians - would prefer those roles filled by non-career-politicians. Just regular, very smart people with ethics) As our country communicates more, learns more, understands more, then we can make more distributed decisions. That is how I see our future changing for the better. Never lose freedom, independence, and the basic human rights.
