This is awesome! I did something similar a few years ago. I was working at a job I didn't live, so I minimized my living expenses and started saving until I had about 10 months worth of living expenses to go on and could pursue the career I wanted without having to take another job I didn't like. It wasn't easy, but streamlining my life made the next chapter infinitely better because 1) I wasn't controlled by having to get a job I didn't want and 2) The money I made went a lot further since I had such little overhead expenses. If you can figure out how to throw some extra money at that car payment to get it paid off sooner and avoid interest and finance charges, I would suggest doing that too. Best of luck!
