It is both strange and unfortunate that the simplicity, and certainty of happening, sooner or later, of mere greater financial weight is allowed to remain potent to seize solitary governance of Hive, particularly after the blatant demonstration of that vector for centralization on Steem that Hive desperately has fled.
Perhaps those presently possessing the stake to rule simply intend to keep milking it for as long as they're allowed, and only present the promise of decentralized society to draw more contributors to their ROI.
If that is so, it will be Hive that leaves me.
