To learn from someone, in life, you don't have to agree with everything he/she says.
In fact most of the time you learn only from those who challenge your current world-view. Therefore there is nothing to fear if someone contradicts your views.
It thus becomes important to be open, to open yourself to the other side and only by doing so will you allow new ideas to come to you and give you a richer perspective.
