nice post. I tend to agree that minimalism has been pushed to an uncomfortable extreme. I personally subscribe to the definition of minimalism that entails being conscious of purchases, where any purchase is considered to be minimal if the item being purchased leaves no garbage once consumed, or will be something that I will use / have for the rest of my life. Also, I have eliminated all forms of decorative items.

That's the original definition and it's smart, useful and beneficial.

You;re right it has been pushed to extremes.

Though I have to confess, I never bought decorations, but they never bothered me either to be honest. In fact, I think I don't even notice them on the wall. :P
