It's not just skin but often my teeth will painlessly fall out
I've read that this is one of the most common dreams. I've had it several times, and I remember waking up relieved to know it was just a dream. I often worry in my dreams as if they were real, and only realize they are not when I wake up.
Regarding interpretation, I think if there is a meaning, you are probably the best person to find it. After all, if it's a message for someone, I guess it should be written in a language the recipient can understand.

I was unaware that this is really common in dreams. I guess because we all at the end of the day really cherish the functionality of our own bodies above almost anything else and to have that taken away by things beyond your control is actually very terrifying
