Mom

She said that she was not my enemy, but my ally, while talking about my brother. I didn't say anything, but the reality is that she is both my greatest ally—because she is my Mother—and my greatest enemy—thanks to her religion. It is because I did not want to break my relationship with my Mother that I suppressed myself. I don't think I would have done it—the self-censorship—if it was just Dad and brothers. I would have left home as soon as I had the chance. Butt I couldn't escape the lukewarm embrace of my Mother.
