The mindset of an average black

in #life26 days ago

Black is beautiful, you must have heard this before even one of Nigeria singer ones sang that black is beautiful in his song.

The idea for this article is to address what the average black mindset is like, but before that I will like to bring to our knowledge what I mean by the word 'black' in general is known to be a colour that is the strongest of the neutral colours.

In this context, the black here stands for a fully born African that is a black man, it wouldn't be out of place to title the article as The Mindset of an average African man or black man.
To begin with I will like to state all those countries that fall into this category we have The Nigerians, Ghanaians, Cameroonians, Gambians and so on.

Just like it was stated in the first paragraph that black is beautiful, this indeed is so true when you take a look at the beautiful cultural heritage, languages, food, dresses and what have you, you can now testify that indeed black is beautiful.

When you come to a country like Nigeria you see different languages and their various kinds of dresses, food they are know for take for example in the case of the three major tribes we have the Igbos, Hausa and yoruba. The Igbos are know for yam, cocoyam, corn (porridge, soups), various vegetables, as well as fish(called Azu). For cooking, Igbo people use palm oil and other spicy seasonings, Igbo eat Akwu and Oha soup, bitter leaf soup and among some of their most delicious salads are Jakwu, Abacha, Ugba.
On the other hand the Hausa are also know for suya, porridges, moringa soups, and also meat, dairy products, and fish. A necessity for every Hausa home is the Kola nut. One of the most beloved Nigerian food by Hausa people is Tuwo with Kuka soup.
While they yoruba are know for famous for their "Iyan" (pounded yam) - a dish that can be served with a variety of soups like the Gbegiri, ogbono soup, ekuru and so on.

Since I have been able to highlight little about this set of people we can now go back to our discussion on the black man mindset.
Firstly, the idea of village people an average black man when things are not moving fine or when times are so hard with him would conclude his or her village people are after them, I strongly believe that the spiritual do really control the physical but most times what we need to do is to try again, having tried and nothing to show for it.
Furthermore, the idea of pointing fingers even when we are wrong you see how some would shift blames at you knowing fully well that the are actually at fault. we also have this with the case of government where the citizens point fingers at the leaders without checking themselves inwardly before pointing accusing fingers.
We have the idea of witch hunting you see persons who happens to be doing same business or work, maybe one is more successful than the other you see in some case the other will be so jealous to the extent of going diabolical to be his neighbor down.
another example is in an extended family were a man marries more than one woman, when the women start to give birth and their children begins to grow you discover that children from the same mother are more successful than the children of the other which majority of them would go to the extent of witch hunting the other that seems to be successful.

Also our reliance on foreign products over products made at home, recently I came to discover that the electric cables we use for electrical works is best you purchase the Nigerian made ones than the foreign ones due to it superior quality, not just cables there are other products made locally that are better than the so call foreign ones.

Lastly, worshipping the white man there is this mindset that the white man is superior which might be true in some case and not in all cases thereby looking down on our abilities as fellow black .

In conclusion, the black are all encouraged to stand up on their feet and make things happen, celebrate your own who are doing better than you are and work harder to get the best out of yourself so as to avoid negative tendency like witch-hunting and other forms of evil.
