This is called a Musa Basjoo Banana and it is also known as the Hardy Banana. I wasn't aware of the fact that I could grow a banana tree until a few months ago and, thankfully, it is very happy here. The banana tree cost me $20 USD and it looked rather sad and beat up when I got it. It was the only banana tree in the nursery, and I knew my husband wanted one, so I took it home with me. It has definitely made a full recovery. A lot of people are not aware the Musa Banana is a perennial herb that can grow almost 20 feet tall. I am glad our family planted our banana tree and look forward to seeing how tall it can get.
