This morning, while riding on a public vehicle a lady asked me what time is it? I said, "It's 9:47 ma'am." Then she replied, "Is your watch set at the proper time?" I responded, "Yes! This is the right time." The lady wants to be certain if she's hearing the correct time because here in The Philippines, many people set their watches in advanced by about 10 to 30 minutes. They do it in order to prevent themselves from being tardy. It became a trend to many people and in some offices to set their clocks in advanced. What's alarming is that even government offices are setting their clocks in the same way too. So the government issued a law that every establishments should set their clocks at the correct time to prevent confusion. Any offices who will not follow this law will be fined a large sum of money. This was done to ensure that every people are moving according to the correct time.
Speaking of time, there are two kinds of time defined in the Greek. The first one is called "Kairos." The second one is "Chronos." Kairos is defined as "the appointed, exact or perfect time." While Chronos is the "chronological or passing time." In the Bible, Kairos is God's time or the spiritual or heavenly time, while Chronos is the type of time that we are living in, the 24 hour cycle or the man's time.
Before anything else was created, Kairos or God's time is the only time that exists. When God created the earth, Chronos time came into manifestation. Before the first man(Adam) sinned, Kairos time and Chronos time are merged as a single time. God's time and man's time are always in perfect harmony. Man does not need to till the ground or pray for a rain in order to reap a harvest, for the whole world is in a state of favor where everything takes place at a perfect time appointed by God.
After the fall of man, the unity of Kairos and Chronos was separated. So man's effort is now needed in order to make things work according to the time and way that they want it to happen. They are no longer under the favor of Kairos time. It is God's very desire to merge this two separated times once again. So that the whole earth would once again be under his favor and redeem all creation from the curse of toiling.
Let's take a look at these Bible passages about time:
“But when the fulness of the TIME(Chronos) was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” - Galatians 4:4-5
“That in the dispensation of the fulness of TIMES(Kairos) he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:” - Ephesians 1:10
The first passage says that Jesus Christ was sent at the fulness of Chronos time. The second passage says that everything will be gathered together in Christ in the fulness of Kairos time. This shows that Christ Jesus is living in both Chronos and Kairos time. Jesus is the only one who was able to merge these two times once again. After the fall of man, God was seeking a perfect time to unite the earth once again in his favor. Before Jesus was born, Chronos time passed for thousands of years but no way and opportunity was found to unite both times. Then, the fulness of time came, the time where God see it fit to merge Chronos and Kairos once again. This time is the birth of Jesus Christ. It is the reason why angels are rejoicing and proclaiming peace on earth at his birth. His birth, growth and work in his ministry set the tone in merging both times. His death, resurrection and ascension finalized the process of merging Kairos and Chronos time.
What is the importance in knowing these things? You see, this is the greatest breakthrough that ever happened in human history! By the work of Christ the whole earth and human race is now covered by his blood. All of our sins are covered and forgiven. God is seeing us today righteous and holy not because of our works but because of his son's finished work. Most people don't realize this but we are now living in the age where everyone is under God's favor because of the finished work of Christ. Everyday, every hour, every minute and every second is a time where you can always experience God's favor. Christ became the bridge for us to enter once more into God's rest.
Do you know that you can be healed today from any kinds of sicknesses without medication? Do you know that you can have your family relationships restored once again? Do you know that you can overcome every struggles and woes in your life today? It is through believing that what Christ did on the cross was a perfect work! That we are now cleanse by his blood from all of our impurities. That it is enough to place us once again under the favor of God. A realm where there are no struggles. A realm where your effort is not needed to experience the good that you desire.
Jesus said that he is the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to God except through him. The door is now opened to God's rest. And that door is Christ Jesus. Everyone is free to enter. No entrance fees! Enter boldly knowing that you are freely forgiven and made righteous. Receive this blessed time that God is offering you today!
