Rice Plantation In Nepal

Nepal is a land of farmers. There are more than 65 % people depend on agriculture in Nepal. Nepalease people plant rice in June and July month. Rice is the most important crop for Nepalese farmers and there are about 50 percent of the total agricultural areas and production in the country.
Plantation is a heavy work. Farmers wake up early in the morning and go to the farm. Usually every farmer work 13 - 14 hours every day in this period. However, this is not a single day act. It lasts for a month, depending the region of Nepal. There are many process to plant rice. Normally, Men plough and dig the land, maintain the water level and Women plant the rice. During plantation Nepali farmers sing folk songs and splashing each other with the mud and water during rice plantation. Those Folk songs entertain, encourage and help to forget the sorrows and difficulties. Every year Ashad 15 of Hindu calendar is celebrated rice plantation festival in Nepal.
