Before I get started, I want to make clear that is the very first time that I incurred on this subject, so hard and polemic and in which I consider myself a completely ignorant. So you’d ask, why do you write about it? Well, what I’ll share is a conversation I had with a great girl friend, in which I went surprised by my own answer…. Here it goes.

Jesus: love… tough question. It could be answered from the physiological point of view, also from the psychological perspective as well as from the philosophical; the thing is that those three aspects are indissoluble. Because love is physiological, is psychological and is philosophical.
Physiologically we could say that love is nothing but a mix of chemistry reactions, a natural drug, and as any other drug, when you stop doing it, you have hangover, abstinence and the abstinence, is hell!

But these chemistry reactions generate interpretations and emotions. Is here when psychology gets in, are those damn interpretations and emotions that make you high, makes you feel in the glory! But also, in the hangover or abstinence are the ones who make you feel like an idiot. Is the “I’m never drinking again” of the Sundays, perfectly knowing that is lie, because we always search for the ecstasy, and the thing is that as a good tequila, a good person it’s undeniable and dating someone without wanting to be in love with it’s like drinking without wanting to get drunk, absurd. Or you leave it completely or you live it completely, there is no in between.
And, is there where philosophy gets on the scene; is love necessary for life? No, of course not, as the alcohol isn’t necessary either, but clearly can make your life better, happier. But, you must be disposed to live the hangover (surely you will have at least one in your life).
Now, you can decided not to live the hangover, but you couldn’t taste the sweetness of the drug, you can stay with your quite, sober, gray life…
