What is true love all about? Everyone wants to know what true love is, and many people think they can feel it when it happens, but do they? Are they experiencing true love or are those experiences infatuation, lust, or even wishful thinking? Moreover, is true love something that is actually possible, or is it all in our heads?
Once we get involved sexually, we tend to rely on sex as the only way of expressing our love. However, Gary Chapman has identified five major love languages, and you can show them all in adapting relationship. Here are some of the examples of creative ways we can purely express love to our date:
Use Words of Affirmation
With your words you bring life, or with your words you bring death. How many times have you built someone up, complimented someone, or expressed your love in words? Now, how many times have you been sarcastic?
Tell them how much you care for them. Notice how nice they dress, smell great, and look good. Compliment them on their courage, truth-worthiness, care, servant-heart, being a listener, their joy, or peace.
Spend Time Together
Take a walk. Play tennis. Go out to eat. Listen to music together. Go to concert or for games. Think of 101 things you could do. This way, you can truly get to know the other person because of time that is spent together in various settings.
Give Gifts
For no special reason, give something no matter how small; something the person would enjoy. It's not Christmas or Birthday or Valentine's Day, or Groundhog Day, but here's a little gift to say I care about you; you're special. It can be flowers, candy, key chains, stuffed animal but not necessarily call credit cards.
Be Helpful
Help them with homework by explaining how to do it. Help with some works or even do them yourself. This is saying, "I care about you!" You are looking to serve them and to make their load lighter.
Appropriately Touch the Person
Neither am I talking about painful touch, like slugging them, nor sexual touch. I am talking about touching them in the purest sense of the word, giving them a hug, holding their hands, or putting your arms around them. Touching someone is a wonderful way to communicate love. But be careful where you touch and how much you touch. A woman can tell the difference between a touch done in love and one done in lust.
Sex is separate from the love languages shown in a dating relationship. It is so wonderful to wait until the time is right-marriage.
Love is all about serving the other person and seeking what is best for them.
