Need of the hour

Entire globe covering our seas and oceans are at a grave risk of pollution created due to overuse of plastics and other garbages ending up into the oceans. This is the high time to look into the entire scenario with some seriousness. Apart of these, there are many other reasons like coastal construction and development, a huge amount of fishing, tourism, and other recreational works have also contributed to the degradation of this level.

Reports on the level of pollution

UNESCO reports that many land-based sources basically agricultural wastages, pesticides, untreated sewage including plastics accounts for about 80% of the pollution sources of marine pollution. Agricultural runoffs have created many dead zones in the marine life, virtually creating a low oxygen level unsuitable for marine and aquatic life to survive.
It is estimated that over 220 million tons of plastics are produced every year and disposal of these plastic components were not addressed satisfactorily. They also contribute to the death of around a million seabirds every year.

My considered opinion

The excessive use of harmful pollutants, plastics, and other chemicals have a great impact on our marine life. Our marine life is dying in front of us and as a result entire world oceanic ecosystem is threatened. This level of pollution is nothing but the contribution of our selfish motives for creating wealth and urbanization. Excessive recreational works with over construction and use of harmful chemicals and pesticides along with many other factors are the sole reasons behind the faith of marine life and its destruction.
so, I sincerely request all my readers to have a look in this field as well and be bold to accept the truth behind this level of pollution achieved. I really admire Lewis Pugh for such a great step been taken in changing the mindset and attitude of peoples towards a better marine life and upliftment of its degrading level.

Be safe and eat healthily.

Thanks!
