Haha! That is surely thinking outside the box, for sure! The little sweet feet in the thumbnail was clickbait! :) Adorable little clickbait. I had no idea they would ship chickens in a box. I'm not kidding, but, I am not as smart as I thought. But, they were none the worse for wear.
You were a runner!? How cool is that?!! I still run, but, not nearly your mileage, and I run less and less each year, and walk more and more. But, I am happy that you are grabbing those shoes back. My day isn't complete until I have a one-on-one with Mother Nature. I am sure you are excited to go that place again! I am to assume that your running shoes work well?
Seeds, cultures. Oh, my! You really have become friends with the delivery guy, haven't you? And did I say you get great boxes?? I will admit that olives are some of my favorite food. I will eat any kind. I was surprised how long many olives take, the entire process, tree to table. :)) Worth every day!

Denise we have so much in common! I love that you can relate to the running and the sewing. And, no, you definitely aren't dumb. They probably would NOT ship live chickens. Friends were coming through and picked them up which saved us driving through to collect. My brother shipped us a batch of eggs to hatch but the couriers take so long in the country that we end up with a batch of mostly not viable eggs so the incubator hatches very few.
As far as those little feet. The children love playing in the boxes that arrive (if they are big enough) and that inspired my idea for the post. I thought you would also find it fun
I have never met a child that didn't love boxes. There was a lot of moving for the job, so the movers always left some boxes behind and between the cat and the kids, the boxes were always full.
I feel better about the chickens! :))

My cats also love the boxes! And with five there's inevitably at least one in a box - much to my children's disgust
