Off For A Drive🚗🚗

in #marketfridaylast year

I started off the day with going to the place that gives out free food, they also give out a gift card for 10 bucks at the grocery store, yay! I had to wait there a long time, pretty huge line up for like a half an hour.

After that it was time for some driving, so I put a CD in the CD player in my rusty Pontiac G5, I was in the mood for some fast ska punk, so I thought The Flatliners were the perfect,

I put it full blast and off I went to the shell gas station slash Circle K, to put in 3 dollars of gas in the tank, boy o boy was I a highroller, I sure was a little happy the gas prices dipped a little to 151.9, sure it is cheaper to go get gas at the rez, but I was almost out of gas. Hopefully this will be enough gas to get to the first place to get to for #marketfriday.

Luckily my car made it to the spot. I went to Trijan Industries, I had a pound of copper to sell there, had to make back the money I spent in gas.

I ended up getting 3 dollars and 40 cents. They had all sorts of neat statues made of metal.

The area for this business was near where I used to work as a garbage man, I quit that job, I keep on thinking of that Simpsons episode where Homer ran against Ray Patterson for Sanitation and Homer's gimmick was "can't somebody else do it" thats exactly how I fell. So I stopped there, they had some vacation pay that they owed me, so I picked it up, so I could do some shopping.

So the next stop I made for marketfiday was Metro Grocery store, I sure wish they were opened 24 hours a day like how they were in the good old days , I 2miss shopping at 2AM.
I had to get a birthday cake for my wife, I was only like 3 days late, but at least I made her a birthday donut on the day of her birthday. And as soon as I walked in the store I saw flowers and I got sidetracked, was tempted to buy some but I didn't want to pick the wrong ones, that could potentially cause drama, the had some rad looking calandivas and commercial mums.

I have to start looking for a cake, I am wasting to much time and I have been out and about for hours and I can't keep the wife waiting. So to the cake section, they had a pretty big seletion there.

And here we go, I found the perfect cake for her, a blackforest cake and it wad only eight dollars and ninty nine cents. And I was able to use the gift card I got earlier and I still had like a dollar left on it.

Happy Birthday to the wife! Black Forest cake? Yummy! You do know you could have made a cake for cheaper, right? Think of the adventure that could have been, yes? :) My family always requests cakes that are the highlight of my year! Yikes. I am an expert at making the BlackForest with a whipped cream topping. It is the absolute best, I am telling you!!!

Anyway, life sounds like it is leveling off, but not flatlining... nice touch for the post. Have you settled in a town yet? Really nice that they are giving help out in the area. Enjoy your week ahead!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.
Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday
