A critical conscious mind is incapable of facing the subconscious mind that has much greater power than it does. In daily life much of our logic is defeated by the subconscious mind. Although you have never seen a ghost, but when you go through the graveyard which is rumored very haunted in the middle of the night, surely you will feel scared and want to get away from that place. Your conscious mind is defeated by the subconscious mind that wants you to get away from it. Your subconscious mind already believes that the ghost exists, and can harm you, despite the fact you have never met or seen a ghost.
Character, behavior and all our actions are controlled by the subconscious mind. If what is embedded in our subconscious mind is bad then all our characters, behaviors and deeds tend to the bad thing, without being prevented by conscious thought. If the embedded in the subconscious mind is good, then all our characters, behavior and deeds will tend to the good too. If we want to have good character and behavior, cultivate good qualities in the subconscious mind. Viewer and hearing are the main gateways to the influences that enter our subconscious mind. The conscious mind is the gatekeeper in charge of sorting out any influences that may enter through the gate.
