Getting the same amount of sbd back was too much. Many abusers would try to harvest us for the sweet rewards and no votes were available for the minnows, so we decided to set to profit good enough for genuine users, but too low for spammers to be worth it.

Agree but you may Noticed that from last week till today, payouts are increasing in form of SBD as comparing to SP price.
