#Growth and #Reflection a #Journey of MovingForward.

How many times have I stopped dead in my tracks feeling unworthy of moving forward? How many times have I stopped and told myself, “Here I go again only playing at 80% not finishing what I started.” How often do I view my actions then proceed to put them into boxes of right and wrong, good or bad?

What is the point?

In the past I’ve viewed it as a way to motivate myself to get better and because of it I was never enough and by design, never fulfilled. I got really good at picking out all the negative things that occurred during the day and what started out as a way to learn and improve, oftentimes spiraled out of control into an endless cycle of self beat up. I was great at it. Hell, it was the majority of what I practiced.

Then it occurred to me. What if, and just what if, right and wrong, good or bad, had nothing to do with growth? What if I could free myself the extra energy placed into judgment on something I can’t go back in time and change? What would my life look like if I “trim the fat” to my reflection process?

Then it dawned on me.

Growth and reflection isn’t about dwelling on all the I should’ve done this and thats. It’s looking at what I accomplished and how focusing on what I accomplished creates an opportunity for me to understand where I get to go next. What I accomplished, as results show, is the reality I created and by definition was my 100% AT THE TIME. Then the question becomes, “Are those the results that I want to continue to create?”

Growth lives in the choices I make and reflection lives in my willingness to ask questions that move me forward. What I practice may never become perfect and I’m okay with that because it sure as hell will be what I get good at and I choose to get good at moving forward. #pineappleadventure
