Your appearance is not just about what you wear, it is an expression of who you are and what you represent. A friend of mine went to look for job in a company some years back, so he did not read through their requirements and the dress code allowed. When he got there, he was surprised that he was the only one odd. Right at the entrance, the person who he saw ask him why he was attired like that. Even without looking at his rich CV, he already formed an impression about him. He told him that he should dress for the job he wants to get, not for the job he is coming from. He gave him a chance to go and change his outfit. When he came back, during the interview, they were shocked by how rich his CV was, and he got the job. He would have lost that opportunity simply because of his dressing. This is why you should understand that your appearance is a statement.

The way you present yourself in form of your appearance and you dressing will silently tell a story to the world about your mindset, who you are, your discipline and, your goals. Whether you believe it or not, people will definitely form an impression about you based on how you appear, and it may be in seconds. The way you look like will influence someone's perception of you. This is the reason you have to align your outward appearance with your inward goals. That is, look like what you want to see. Dressing the way you want to be addressed is an expression of wisdom.
I am sure you have seen companies mount billboards to advertise who they are and what they do, which also reflects their values. Just to let you know; your appearance is your own personal billboard. It shows the world who you really are. You have to be intentional about projecting your image to match with your ambition and your goals. For example, if you want to be a leader, a professional, or a game changer, then your appearance and your body languages should communicate it. Trust me, how you appear speaks first even before you open your mouth to say anything. The human mind is built in a way that it will create a mental image of someone based on how they perceive them. You should use this bias in you favour.
Have you noticed that when someone appears neat, well-organised, and confident, you will tend to respect them more than someone who just appears "anyhow?" This is also how others will show respect to you when you appear well. Just to let you know; this is not about wearing expensive designer clothes nor is it about following the trend, rather it is about being intentional and deliberate in your presentation. For example, a neatly ironed shirt, tidy hair, polished shoe, and a good posture can say a lot about you. These things might look little, but they add up to the impression you will leave in the mind of people.

Your appearance is not only related to your clothes, it also includes how you carry yourself, your presence, how you smile, the way you talk to people, and how you make them feel when they are in your company. It is not only about looking good, but being good. Trust me, if your outward appearance matches with your inner values, people will sense it. A lot of things about you can pass massages without you even saying a word, and that includes your appearance. You can actually motivate and inspire people by just the way you appear. Have you ever heard someone say "I want to be like this person?" It happens. Most times, not because they have communicated with the person, but because of what they can perceive about them.
Success often leaves cues. When you take a look at the people who you admire, you will discover one thing - they pay attention to their appearance. This is not about pride, but about knowing your true worth and knowing that you have value. When you look good, you will also feel good, and you will also be able to communicate the goodness to others. By appearing good, you spark up confidence not just in you but also in others.

This is so true in corporate world, no matter what's the company policy or dress code is. The moment you find yourself in a situation where you are not able to match the dressing sense of the room,.the confidence takes a hit and the doubts arises.
I was once present in a corporate meeting and my understanding was that since it's Friday its casual wear, but my definition of casual and the company causal was so different. And that how I ended up in a room full of young well dress gentlemen and ladies in my torn jeans crocs and v neck tshirt. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
That's right. There is a kind of confidence that comes with dressing right.
Lol. The torn jeans and crocs got me laughing 🤣
Thanks for coming around, buddy @inuke
