Do Not Doubt Yourself

in #motivation13 hours ago

One of the things that prevent someone from reaching their full potential and attaining the peak of their goal is self-doubt. It is that small subtle voice inside you that whispers to you that you are not good enough, or that you are not smart enough, or that you cannot make it, or that you are not yet ready. This will make you to begin to question your ability and even your own self. A lot of people have doubted themselves at some points in their life. But if you want to succeed in life, then you have to learn how to overcome and live above self-doubt. If you do not break the chains of self-doubt, it may break you off from the pathway of achieving your destiny.

In order to overcome self-doubt, you have to recognised what can lead to it. It is when you have the knowledge of a problem that you will be able to fight it. One of the most common things that lead someone to doubt themself is comparison. When you see someone who is doing better than you, or moving faster, or achieving more, you may begin to think that you are inadequate, or that you are lacking in capacity to achieve success. You may even tend to question your ability, or try to convince yourself that there are some successes that are not for you. Over time, these thoughts will becomes a very strong mental barrier, and may prevent you from trying again. This is the danger of comparison.

Another cause that can make one to doubt themself is past failure. When someone has tried something in the past and failed, or maybe have taken a particular step in the past and did not make a headway in it, it may lead to the fear of not trying again. They may even think to themself "what if I try again and the result becomes the same as the last time?" This particular fear can even make them to avoid what would have been new opportunities. By that they tend to remain on the same spot instead of moving forward. What they fail to understand is that their past mistakes and their past failures are not who they are. What happened in the past should not determine their future, and should not stop them from trying again.

To break free from the chains of self-doubt, you have to change your mindset towards yourself. Change how you see yourself, and what you think about yourself. First of all, you have to understand that no human has achieved perfection, so they are susceptible to making mistakes. Which means that your mistakes do not show that you are weak, rather they are cumulatively a product of the learning processes. A lot of the successful people you know also faced some setbacks at some points, but they did not allow the setbacks to define them. As long as you are willing to learn from your past mistakes and from your past failures, then you are ready for success. So do not allow the fact that you made mistake to make you look at yourself as a failure, or like you are not up to par.

Another very important way to break the chains of self-doubt is to focus more on the progress that you are making, and not on perfection. Some people doubt themselves because they expect immediate results and quick success. But when they do not see it, they will become discouraged and they begin to feel less of themselves. What they fail to understand is that real growth can take time, and may not happen overnight. The small improvements you do in each day will cumulatively produce good returns with time. This is why you should focus on the progress you are making, so that you will be motivated to do more. When you celebrate your little wins, you will have the encouragement and the zeal to do more.

You also have to surround yourself with the people who will help you to see the best in you, who will boost your confidence. Encouragement from friends, family, colleagues, and well-wishers can remind you of your strength when you are about to doubt yourself. Positive influences from people can help you to see possibilities instead of seeing limitations. So have positive people around you who can help you become a better version of you.
