The Power Of Discipline And Consistency To Create Success

in #motivationyesterday

Discipline and consistency are two very important requirements to achieve success. For success to be achieved, you have to remain committed to a goal without a recourse to the number of challenges you face on the way - this talks about consistency. You may do something and not get immediate result but if you will not give up trying, you will be surprised how the result will be achieved. With discipline in place and of course, with consistency, one can simply turn their littleness into greatness and then achieve success.

To make it clear, discipline talks about putting a control on yourself. That is, not doing something, not because it is not legal but because it may not be right for you. It is checking your actions and conforming to what is right irrespective of how you are enticed to go against it. That being said about discipline, consistency talks about continuously putting in purposeful actions until you achieve the desired result. It does not mean taking a giant stride once-and-for-all, but it is more of continuous little steps that will sum up over time to produce mind-blowing results.

There was a time, some months ago, when the tap of the compound's tank got a bit faulty and as a result, it did not close well. This made water to be dripping from the tap. At first, I ignored it because it dropped very little by little and looked almost negligible. However, by morning, the whole ground was wet. I thought maybe someone fetched water from the tank and spilled it mistakenly. But then, I decided to put a bucket under where the water was dripping. Surprisingly, by morning, the bucket was already full. This showed me the power of consistency. The drops may have looked little, but dropping consistently and continuously was what made the bucket full.

The steps you take towards your dreams may look small but it is not insignificant. Just keep putting in the steps without quitting, one day, the cumulative of the steps will produce extraordinary results. Your efforts, as long as they are consistent and sustained, over a period of time, will produce remarkable result. You do not have to wait until you are able to take a giant stride before you make a move. Just make the move even if it is just a small step and continue at it, you will definitely have something to show for it in the long run.

Whatever you do, do not be stuck at a point - keep moving. You may not be making as much progress as someone else may be making per se, but still keep at it. At the end of the day, you will get the benefits of consistency. Doing something seemingly small over a long period of time will make the cumulative effect to be even greater than doing something big for just once. However, you need to know that consistency requires you to be disciplined. In fact, a lot of things might come to discourage you from continuing but refuse to be discouraged and remain committed to your course.

It is your discipline that will drive your consistency. Without your discipline, even motivations can crack and zeals can waver. You have to understand that the good things that you want to achieve may require some time and they may not deliver immediately you have put in the action, so you need to continue on it. But with discipline, even the highest mountains can be surmountable and the hardest task can be achieved.

Discipline plays a very important role in many aspects of our lives. As a business person for example, if you are not disciplined with your finances, you may see yourself using your business capital for personal expenditure and even what you may not need. I remember when a friend told me they he does not know why he always dips his hands into his business money and he has been depleting his capital. I simply advised him to be more disciplined and make up his mind to do what is right even if it is not convenient. He heeded and with that singular decision to be financially disciplined, he was able to build back his capital. As a way of conclusion, I want to remind you that everyone can be disciplined if they want to - discipline is a choice, not what you are born with.

Agree with this 100% . Appreciate the say - The steps towards working our dream may be little, but the result sure will be extraordinary, if we do not quit. Nice share.

That's right. The steps may be little but if they are consistent, then they will have sure results.
