Are you in the place right now where you are watching people making positive changes, raising above their problems and killing it but when you look at your life, it is far away from what you actually desire? Do you feel that there is plenty of room for improvement and more action, but when comes to actually doing it, you are stuck?
About 5 or 6 years ago, I was everything but not committed. I had many dreams and visions about my life, but never actually took action to fulfill them. When I look back and think of the reason why I wasn’t putting some significant effort in, two things come to my mind. First, I didn’t believe I can be a committed person. Second, I had no idea where I am heading. There was a dream, but not a plan.
There are tons of people with great talent, awesome plans and ideas but because of the lack of commitment, they never make it in life. Since becoming committed is possible for everyone, I have for you 5 ways how you can develop high dedication level once and for all.

1# Believe in your ability
As I mentioned above, lack of belief was one of the primary reasons why I didn’t take any action and didn’t even try. I admired all those people around me, I wanted to be like them and have the success they have, but I didn’t think of myself as someone who can do it.
I know that many of us are diagnosed with this “low self-belief” disease. More than likely you tried something in the past. Maybe you wanted to lose weight, and you committed yourself to go on a diet. After a few attempts, you failed. It created this false belief that you aren’t able to stay committed. The only way how to gain self-belief is by taking action and trying until it sticks.
2# Feel it for yourself
I can talk to you about taking action or my experience all day, but as long as you don’t feel it for yourself, we are wasting time.
Just recently I was talking to one of my readers who was wretched because he kept failing and often didn’t do what he planned. This left him frustrated and sad. He told me that he wants to wake up every morning at 5 a.m., but instead, he gets out of his bed at 8 a.m. I advised him to try waking up at 7 a.m. Then, within a week or two, move his alarm clock to 6:30 a.m. and continue until he gets into the habit of waking up early.
The point I am trying to make is that sometimes we set very high expectations for ourselves. Instead of becoming the most committed and dedicated person overnight, try to take smaller steps so you can gain more confidence in your ability. The same applies to those who want to lose weight. Instead of going on a crazy diet and give your body total shock, lower the level of sugar or avoid any unhealthy snacks at the beginning.
3# Create a plan
It’s time to get a little bit practical. Having a clear set of goals and a plan will help you stay dedicated. You will know exactly where you are going and what you need to do.
Let me give you an example of how not having a plan can destroy your commitment level. Let’s say you wake up in the morning. If you don’t know what you should do and what actions to take, you can’t jump right in. You start thinking what needs to be done; suddenly a million things come to mind because there is always something we can do, isn’t it? You are getting overwhelmed right from the start of the day which lowers your productivity and takes away your time. You feel that things are out of control. This is a typical pattern many of us are going through.
Now imagine that your plan is prepared the day before. You wake up on time, make your cup of coffee and start right away, fresh and rested. Productivity will be flying around, and you will feel good about yourself. You are in control over your time and results and therefore more certain in staying committed.

4# Understand the lost
There are two great motivators in life which are pain and pleasure. For some reasons, the pain seemed to be always more powerful. You can motivate yourself by seeing your future without commitment. What can you lose? How many chances can you miss? Do you want to live like people who always complain, people who are miserable but don’t do anything about it? Do you want to live for weekends and feel totally depressed on Monday morning because you are walking to a job you dislike? How does it feel to live this way for the rest of your life?
Remember that pain from living the rest of your life the way you hate is much greater than the pain of change and commitment. The best thing? You choose.
5# Don’t buy into other’s BS
Maybe you wonder what this has to do with your commitment level. Well, people often quit because of the judgment and disbelief of their friends or family members. They lose dreams and goals because others told them they are ridiculous.
The best game changer is following your heart. Once you take action, once you begin to change and move forward, don’t let anyone stop you from achieving your dreams. It doesn’t matter how crazy it seems to them. If you know that this is what you want, do it and don’t stop until you reach the finish line. Don’t get discouraged by other’s meaningless opinion about your life.
