After a documentary in 2004, Jan-Ole Gerster released his first film in 2013, tittled "A Coffee in Berlin", which went on to create so much surprises at the German box office, and will even go as far as winning six Lola German film award back then.

For his first film Jan-Ole Gerster, demonstrates a strong desire for cinema. "A Coffee in Berlin" is a poetic and melancholy breakaway in the streets of Berlin alongside an endearing character, held by the very good Tom Schilling.

The great strength of this film is obviously its visuals, its aesthetics, and its atmosphere. If, the script treats his character well, more than a well-developed plot, the latter is reinforced by the sublime staging that Jan-Ole Gerster offers us. "A Coffee in Berlin" is a film that overflows with cinema in every corner. It is a film full of ideas where nothing is left to chance.
