HOW TO MAKE A SONG PART 2. "Choose the singer and the genre"

As I explained in detail in my previous blog
The first thing is to write the lyric. You have to have an idea of what you want to do, I mean, know what genre you want your song to go and what kind of interpreter you’d like for that topic, and based on that, start writing because depending on the genre, it will be the content of the lyrics.
For example, ballads usually have short lyrics, a couple of verses, the chorus and the bridge (interlude) is a part of a song that is placed in the middle of the theme, or after the second time the chorus appears towards the end of the song.
Whether it's a rap or an urban theme, it carries much more content.
Then it goes to the studio where with a pianist or guitarist the shots are taken with the interpreter to fix the chords, the introduction, solo, final etc.
And the next step would be to make all the musical arrangements
Selection of musicians, instruments, effects, sounds, etc.
All this is directed by a music producer, from the moment you enter the studio until the song is completely finished.
The choice of presets or sounds is quite thorough, for example, electric guitars are used in a studio with pedals and amplifiers that generate thousands of different sounds, and in a song each guitar usually uses three or four changes of sounds and in a song several guitars are recorded.
And so it is with all the instruments, the bass also uses pedal and amplifier and must find a suitable sound for that song or theme.
The synthesizers also have infinity of sounds and at the present time the vst or virtual instruments are used that they extend much more the range of sounds or presets, and it is necessary to choose many sounds like for example pads, rhodes, voices, arpeggios, leads, etc.
The acoustic or electroacoustic guitars depending on the song.
And the piano also depends on the genre to know if a grand piano or an electric piano will be used.
Once each musician saves their presets on their pedal, amplifier and laptop
Everything is ready to record the subject in the studio.
With the voice previously recorded or captured, you start recording with a metronome instrument by instrument, to have better tracking and avoid mistakes, however imperceptible they may be.

Each musician records their instrument and at the end of recording they sit down with the audio engineer and the producer to check the execution well and if they notice any detail they correct it (a punch can be made where the error is, the musician has been touching the subject three measures before the error and the engineer takes the shot only in the place of the error and then releases the punch and voila, the error has been corrected)
Sometimes, although there is no error in the performance, the musicians can feel or perceive what is known in the musical jargon as feeling and they tend to tell you “I lacked feeling in this part and I want to do that part again”. Although it is not bad, the musicians feel if it reaches their soul, it is really beautiful to see every musician when they hear what they just recorded because they all saw their eyes and they seem to be in another dimension and when they like what many did they even leave drop a tear, and all this is listening to the shot they made, and although the producer is the one with the last word, the opinion of each musician is sacred to approve whether or not his instrument was ready.

After having all the orchestration and the next step is to record the voices, it is recommended to first capture the or the interpreter of the subject, then the voices are taken from the polyphony of voices that is also subject to the genre, because if it is a genre ranchero or vallenato, these tend to have little polyphony and are based more on the duets.
But if it is a pop theme, they do have a rich variety for the polyphony of voices and it is really a very hard hard work, the armed of the voices.
And finally the main voice is recorded which also has the same procedure as the instruments, because when the soloist finishes recording they sit down with the engineer and the producer in search of perfection and also of feeling.
And they do the same thing as the musicians saw their eyes and listens with the soul their interpretation and if it reaches the deepest it means that the subject was excellent.
In the next blog we will continue my dear friends, with the explanation of how a song is made.
I hope you have liked and served in something to know how a song is born, if so has your vote and any comments will be appreciated and responded with reciprocity.
