Have you ever seen those really bad movies about american high schools where there are only 4 to 5 social groups. Where everybody in those groups is identical. They all act the same, dress the same, have the same hobbies, listen to the same music, as if their personality came from belonging to that group. None of the groups intermingle and automatically oppose each other. I always thought those where just really bad movies.
Nope, that is america.
When I first got here I thought that people listened when people spoke. I have now learned that americans pick one of the simplistic social groups from their sheltered adolescents that you look like. They then bend everything they hear through that narrow little lens. Whatever can not be bent through that narrow perspective gets dismissed as not true. Americans lie about themselves to brag, so they assume that everything that they don’t know is a lie. They only see and hear what they already think. They are incapable, and unwilling to add new info or adapt new thoughts.
Have you ever met a 13 year old boy who brags about all the women he's having sex with, and seems to be impressing himself as he tells that laughable lie. That is what trying to have a conversation with an american is like. They dismiss and one up everything, for no other reason than they say so. Americans are sheltered, inexperienced, uneducated, willfully ignorant, self righteous, self delusion.
Americans grow up in a country that is completely cut off from all the other cultures of the world. Self praising that multiracial equals multicultural. Americans grow up in identical cookie cuter towns self deluding that they are the most impressive people ever. American parents have monitored and isolated their precious babies to keep them innocent till they are into their late 20's praising every little fart. It doesn’t matter what the subject matter is: they are; your not; their more; your less; they know; you don’t; period end of discussion. They feel entitled to always be admired, or else how dare you. I have never met such dishonest, closed minded, absolutist, spoiled brat, childish, simpleton, tattle tells with no sense of humor, and no depth of thought,.
I am done trying to be reasonable with people who feel superior when being unreasonable. It is exhausting trying to deal with adults that behave like children. I am done trying to be the bigger person with people who throw disgusting accusation around, and accuse others of what they themselves do, as they are doing it, as they accuse others.
Americans are mind numbingly boring, exhaustingly arrogant, childishly self deluding, and shockingly ignorant.
It is a complete waste of time trying to have a honest conversation with an american. I'm through banging my face against that wall trying to get a different outcome. I'm done.
