Today, to complete the previous lesson, let's see the differences that exist between the chromatic scale and the diatonic scale.
The Diatonic scale.
The diatonic scale is a musical heptaphonic scale (seven sounds) in which the notes follow one another with a succession of seven intervals, five tones and two semitones; as we saw in lesson 4 in this precise order: T - T - st - T - T - T - st
This sequence is not univocal, but can be created in seven different combinations called "modes", having the characteristic that each of these can be constructed starting from the others, using as a first note, called tonic, any of the intermediate notes.
So starting from note C on a relative diatonic scale, we will have another seven modes starting from each note that makes up the scale.
But on the ways we will return later. For now, just know that they exist.
Starting from the sixth grade of the scale, we obtain the relative Minor scale, which, taking the note C as the tonic, the sixth degree falls on the note A. The relative minor of C will therefore be the minor (Am).
The sequence of tones in the Minor scale will therefore be: T - st - T - T - st - T - T
This type of scale in Western music also takes the name of "Temperate scale" provided that the tonal system is intoned as an "equal tempered system", ie based on the division of the octave into equal intervals; if instead we use an intonation based on the natural one, the diatonic scale can also take the name of "Natural scale".

The Chromatic scale.
The chromatic scale is a musical scale composed of notes divided by twelve semitones, therefore alterations are also included.
Climbing with the notes, the sharp alteration is used, the flat is used when descending. The altered notes are homophones, therefore written differently for the rules of harmony but with the same sound. For example, if on the piano keyboard we press the C sharp button while we are playing going up, then from left to right, it will be called D flat if we play down from right to left.
The sound will be the same, but the note has a different name.
Generally the chromatic notes are harmoniously meaningless, they are then used to give some "color" to the Diatonic scales.

Oggi, a completamento della precedente lezione, andiamo a vedere le differenze che esistono tra la scala cromatica e la scala diatonica.
La scala Diatonica.
La scala diatonica è una scala musicale eptafonica (sette suoni) in cui le note si susseguono con una successione di sette intervalli, cinque toni e due semitoni; come abbiamo visto nella lezione 4 in questo preciso ordine: T - T - st - T -T -T- st
Questa successione non è univoca, ma può essere creata in sette diverse combinazioni detti "modi", aventi la caratteristica che ognuna di queste può essere costruita a partire dalle altre, usando come prima nota, detta tonica, una qualsiasi delle note intermedie.
Quindi a partire dalla nota C su scala diatonica relativa, avremo altri sette modi partendo da ogni nota che compone la scala.
Ma sui modi ci torneremo più avanti. Per ora vi basti sapere che esistono.
Partendo dal sesto grado della scala, otteniamo la relativa scala Minore, che, prendendo sempre come tonica la nota C, il sesto grado ricade sulla nota A. La relativa minore di Do, sarà quindi il La minore (Am).
La successione dei toni nella scala Minore sarà quindi: T - st - T - T - st - T - T
Questo tipo di scala nella musica occidentale prende anche il nome di "scala Temperata" purché il sistema tonale sia intonato come "sistema temperato equabile", ovvero fondato sulla divisione dell'ottava in intervalli uguali; se invece si utilizza un'intonazione basata su quella naturale, la scala diatonica può prendere anche il nome di "scala Naturale" .

La scala Cromatica.
La scala cromatica è una scala musicale composta da note divise da dodici semitoni, quindi vengono comprese anche le alterazioni.
Salendo con le note si usa l'alterazione diesis, scendendo si usa il bemolle. Le note alterate sono omofone, quindi scritte in maniera diversa per le regole dell'armonia ma con lo stesso suono. Ad esempio se sulla tastiera del pianoforte premiamo il tasto del Do diesis mentre suoniamo salendo, quindi da sinistra verso destra, esso si chiamerà Re bemolle se suoneremo scendendo da destra verso sinistra.
Il suono emesso sarà lo stesso, ma la nota ha un nome diverso.
Generalmente le note cromatiche sono intese armonicamente poco significanti, vengono quindi utilizzate per dare un po' di "colore" alle scale Diatoniche.

mi piace molto la scala cromatica perchè adoro le alterazioni...forse per certi musicisti è un modus operandi
